Bahian cooking is one of the most diversified and rich in the world. With its origin mixed amongst African, Portuguese and indigenous, the food is attractive, well prepared, smells good, piquant and tasty. The African heritage predominates, which uses coconut oil to color and season shellfish and fish, abundant on the Bahia coast giving origin to the famous moquecas, vatapá and caruru. The manioc derivatives are from the indigenous influence.
