Salvador is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Therefore, and by another series of unique characteristics, has also become a major international tourist destinations. Cooking
The Bahian cuisine is one of the most diverse and rich in the world. Of mixed origin among the african, Portuguese and indigenous, the food is beautiful, well prepared, smelling, spicy and hot. The predominant African heritage, which employs the oil from palm to color and temper seafood and fish that abound in the Bahian coast leading to the famous Moqueca, vatapá and amaranth. The derivatives of cassava are of Indian influence.
Beaches
Salvador has 50 km of beautiful beaches. A walk around the edge of town is essential for those who come to the capital. Be sure to visit:
- Porto da Barra
With calm waters, attracts visitors daily. On weekends, because of easy access, is full of bathers;
- Farol da Barra
Protected by reefs, has a sea calm and at low tide are formed several natural pools surrounded by rocks. The visitor has an excellent infrastructure and can rent chairs and hat;
- Ondina

- Pituba
Beach with many rocks in the yellow sand. Located in one of the most populous neighborhoods of Salvador, the Pituba, receives large number of bathers on weekends. It has a huge variety of restaurants and bars;
- Pituaçu
Has stretch of calm water, protected by reefs, and a large stretch of sand excellent for hiking. Moreover, throughout the stretch tents are installed with good infrastructure. Typical snacks and drinks are sold to various daily bathers;
- Artistas/Boca do Rio
Redoubt of boêmios, musicians, poets and intellectuals, the beach boasts a beautiful and good coconut squares poliesportivas. Dozens of bars and restaurants make up the infrastructure;
- Itapuã
